Star Dumplings - Adelaide

If you want a meal that is a) quick, b) a generous serving size and c) excellent value for money then Star Dumplings is for you. it is not fancy but it is clean and bright. It serves two of my favourite things - dumplings and handmade noodles. I couldn't resist ordering both even though I could see from other tables that it was going to be an enormous amount of food. The hot and spicy chicken noodles were great - springy, tasty sauce and chicken with skin and on the bone (they warn you on the menu that it is going to come that way). it wasn't as spicy as I would have liked but the jar of chilli on the table fixed that. The pork dumplings were great. They were large with a juicy filling. for less than $20 I waddled out full and couldn't eat for the rest of the day.

The best dumplings around! The vegetarian dumplings are so fresh and full of vegetables and tofu, not stuffed with vermicelli like other places nearby. So cheap, too. Friendly service

Been to this place a few times with my husband. Small simple restaurant with great food!!! Chicken fried rice is my favourite dish!!!! Go! Enjoy!

Got the chicken stir fry with vegetables with rice and enjoyed it so much. Was full of flavour and tasted amazing. Would definitely go again :).

Such a hard choice when you are in Chinatown at lunch time! Oh my! And since my absolute favourite place is closed for renovations at the moment, makes it even harder! Right, time to try something new! Eventually foodie radar headed me in the direction of Star Dumplings. Ordered steamed spring onion chicken, great flavours, unfortunately the chicken had bits of gristle through it, so made me gristle aware! Don’t like bits in my chicken! Also, had the chicken and prawn fried dumplings, huge serve! And cheap! Flavours pretty good, not great  though and for me the dumpling skin was a little thick. Good serves here, so good, in fact, that I took the majority home for late snacking! Overall, pretty good inexpensive food, exactly what is expected of Chinatown!
