There was no mention or update on their Facebook page, so it was a disappointing experience. I finally tried again on a Friday evening around 5:20pm and stopped by their small hole-in-the-wall for a kebab and chips. The staff member was friendly and talkative, but it took nearly 30 minutes to receive my order (which was nothing out of the ordinary) as I waited on the sidewalk. It appeared that the chips took the longest to prepare, as they seemed to come straight out of the freezer instead of being partially fried beforehand. However, once they were ready, the chips were deliciously crispy. The kebab was just average, a bit lacking in flavor. It was fresh, but didn't have much filling. It was decent for the price of the Scoopon, but I wouldn't be willing to pay $12.50 for it otherwise.
We ordered 2 fish and chips and 1 kebab with chips, but it took 35 minutes for our food to arrive. The fish was undercooked and greasy, making it inedible for my children. The chips were cooked in old oil and tasted terrible. My kebab lacked meat and was disappointing. I have traveled extensively and can confidently say this was the worst meal I have ever had. I am concerned about the possibility of food poisoning later. Even the soft drinks we ordered were flat and warm. I would not recommend wasting your money here, even with a coupon deal.
We went for lunch using a Scoopon voucher. Despite the restaurant claiming to serve from 11 am, when we arrived at 11.55 am, we were greeted by a young Asian man with limited English skills. We ordered Fish and chips, but were informed it would take half an hour as the oil had not been heated yet. We were then told there were no chips available and had to settle for wedges instead. The kitchen, located at the front of the restaurant, emitted strong oil smells throughout the place. Despite the advertisement showing fish in batter, we were served frozen fish placed directly into insufficiently hot oil, resulting in an oily mess on cold plates. The wedges were also cold, and we were only given two tissues instead of paper serviettes. There was no salt or pepper provided, and we had to request a glass for our soft drink as we could not drink directly from the can. This was by far the worst meal we have ever had, and we have no intentions of returning.
