Pierre's Brooklyn Pizza Deli - Akron

I spent 26 years living in New York, and finding truly authentic New York pizza can be a challenge. It all comes down to the sauce and the crust, and this place nails it! The pizzeria is small and cozy, with just a few seats for those who want to enjoy their pizza on-site, much like the classic pizza joints in New York. I tried the plain cheese pizza, and it was phenomenal! I plan to try some toppings next time, but as any true New Yorker knows, if the cheese pizza is outstanding, the other options will be just as delicious. I also love the baklava here—it's perfectly crispy with just the right amount of honey drizzled over the nut filling. The 20-minute drive to get here is definitely worth it, and I always make sure to get enough for leftovers!

I've tried this pizza twice now, and unfortunately, it has been disappointing both times. The crust is soft and doughy, almost as if it was heated in a microwave. The sauce is overly acidic, to the point of being sour, and the toppings—pepperoni and sausage—lack any real flavor. I haven't seen the kitchen myself, but it tastes like jarred sauce on a frozen crust with cheap, pre-made toppings. I feel bad about writing this review because the place is clean, and the staff were very friendly, but the pizza just didn't deliver. For $18 for a 14-inch cheese pizza, I've had better food from a gas station microwave. I don't like leaving negative feedback, but it feels like the other reviews might not reflect my experience. Perhaps I've just had two unfortunate incidents in a row.

As a traveler, I was pleasantly surprised by this New York-style pizza; I found myself completely captivated by it. Normally, I'm not a fan of New York-style pies, but this one is exceptional. The sauce is rich and flavorful, the cheese is outstanding, and the crispy pepperoni is simply delightful. This place truly embodies authenticity—if you're in the area, it's a must-try in my opinion. Please note that it's carry-out only, but I can confidently say that it remains incredible. In my view, you won't find a better pizza, even in New York!

This is probably has the best homemade tasting pizza. Every time I have been there the owner has always greeted me and smiled. I love coming here as a treat at least once a month. The pastrami sandwiches very good!! Just ask for extra mayonnaise because the bread is pretty big!!

Ordered 2 Italian subs and neither one was right spent 28 dollars and threw away called and I was in the wrong they rush you off the phone so that is why orders never right
