R. Shea Brewing Canal Place Downtown

This brewery is conveniently located in downtown Canal Place. I'm not sure why it took us so long to visit, but I'm really glad we finally stopped by. The ambiance has a warehouse feel and is a bit spacious, which could be perfect for a busy night or a special event. R. Shea Brewing offers a nice variety of beers, and we were pleasantly surprised by the food. We tried the Buffalo Chicken Pizza, and it was excellent. The addition of fried chicken was a nice touch, and the cheese was just right. The crust was among the best I've had in Akron—house-made and perfectly balanced, neither too thick nor too thin, and cooked perfectly. The OG Brewhoyse burger was also quite tasty; the beer cheese sauce was outstanding. However, the burger is always cooked well done, making it somewhat tough, though still flavorful. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and can’t wait to return to sample more of their brews and delicious food!

I had a friend visit from LA, and we went on a brewery tour! I was not prepared for how great this place turned out to be! I was pleasantly surprised as soon as I walked in—the atmosphere is one of the coolest I've ever seen! The taco pizza is incredible, and every beer I sampled was just as delicious as the last. The fried pickles and the beer flight also made it into my top five favorites! If you're exploring the Ohio On Tap trail, this is a must-visit spot!

This is one of the top breweries in Summit County. It’s a go-to spot for my office parties and after-hours meetings. The food is outstanding, and they offer a wide selection of beers and adult beverages. They frequently introduce new brews, ensuring there is something for everyone. You can also purchase four-packs, growlers, and crowlers to take your favorite brews home. I can’t wait to return!

I absolutely love this place! The staff is consistently friendly, and both the food and beer are outstanding! I tried the chicken and waffles, which is their special right now, and it was incredible!

The beer selection is quite good. I enjoyed some brews immensely, while others weren't to my taste at all. As a fan of dark beer, I focused on the seasonal Christmas dark ales. My top pick was the Candy Cane Milk Stout, while my least favorite was the Gingerbread variety. That's the great thing about a flight—you get to sample different options and discover what suits your palate. We also ordered food, and everyone at the table was happy with their choices. The menu offers a wide variety, ensuring that there’s something for everyone. The atmosphere is fantastic, capturing the charming old warehouse vibe of downtown Akron.
