Smoke On The Water- At Portage Lakes

We had a great experience here! In town for a wedding and found this place that looked neat on the water. My group was very impressed. Chuck gave fantastic service from the moment we showed up until we left. Staff gave great recommendations on the menu. The food was great, some of the best bbq some of us have had! The brisket, beans, and Mac were all fantastic. Great sauces too! We loved the atmosphere on the lake, and everything was reasonably priced! We left as happy folks!

Service was absolutely terrible. Staff was not attentive to our table took over 20 minutes just to order. Appetizer came with the main meal, despite asking the server to bring it early. Empty water glasses did not clean off our table properly while I appreciate the apologies, I was expecting more.

Everything was very good and we all agreed to come back. Fun, cool atmosphere, amazing bourbon selection, tasty food, super service. A definite go-back!

I went with a group of seven and noticed only about four other tables were occupied when we arrived. My cocktail was mistakenly delivered to another table, and after my party had been served for 15 minutes, I had to go find my waiter in the back, where she was chatting with the chef, to let her know that my food hadn’t arrived. When my sandwich finally came, it was served on a stale bun, and overall, the food was below average.
