My favourite is the BBQ Chicken, Crab Fried Rice and my wife loves the Thai Pad. We also tried other dishes and all are delicious. Customer service is good and friendly staff. I'm very picky when it comes to restaurants. I recommend this place.
So, this place is in a great location in Alameda South Shore. It is very easy to reach. The ambience is great and they have a late happy hour with a good selection of appetizers and cheap drinks. But I don't want all Gordon Ramsay to go over you, I wasn't? on food quality. It was just ok and it felt like a taste with a precooked vibe going for it. I expected a little more tasteful, tasty and spicy. A good point to note is the appetizers are large portions, so note that when ordering a entree. Is there anything like Thai comfort food?? I'd go back, but probably just for the late happy hour.
Really solid accounts of the Thai food trade here in Alameda, The Larb Salat was perfect on point and the basil chicken, a standard plate and a large plate to order if you want to see how a restaurant does, was also perfect with green beans sharp sauce, all perfectly spicy. I agree with this place if you happen to be near the Southshore area, (This is at the end of Park Street as you come into the bay), and I enjoyed it despite the fact that it is in what is basically a busy shopping mall. Good stuff
Great looking location. Interior and outdoor food. I always enjoyed the curries here. I'm going to Curry in every Thai restaurant is the red curry. The consistency of the curry is always the same and never too watery as some restaurants I was. Just a suggestion if you serve the fried egg rolls as an appetizer, please for the sauce they serve with the bbq spits (entree). The sauce strengthens the taste and was a really good combination. Good overall experience.
I've got to say I was a little disappointed, just because we have such high expectations of Monkey Thai. This was our first time coming to this location and it fell short with the food. I got my usual crab fried rice and it wasn't as good compared to the other locations, it was missing the thing that made it so addictive. We got the barbecue skewers which weren't bad, but the crispy pork belly was WAYY to crispy. Now, the pork belly itself was SOO GOOD, but some of the crispy parts were just inedible. You couldn't bite into it. Besides these few hiccups, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, the location is beautiful and at a nice spot, and our drinks were perfect.
