Villa Gargano Italian - Albany

I dined with my family and had a wonderful evening! The selection of Italian dishes was excellent. While the menu may not be extensive, the quality of the offerings certainly makes up for it. The service we received was outstanding; our waiter was friendly and engaging. We chose this restaurant based on a recommendation from a former staff member, and we were not let down. I do wish they still served pizza, as I was a bit disappointed to learn that they haven't had it since the pandemic began, but that’s a minor issue. They also have an impressive selection of Italian wines, and our server provided some great recommendations. If you order a salad, definitely try their house-made blue cheese dressing. The veal piccata was incredibly tender, and the Alfredo pasta was rich and creamy without being overwhelming. Additionally, we really enjoyed the beautiful murals adorning the restaurant’s interior.

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The owner appeared completely uninterested in his customers. My family decided to bring me back for my birthday dinner, despite our previous visit in February being marred by poor service. To be honest, they might as well shut down, as it seems like the only dish they serve now is baked spaghetti. They didn’t even offer butter for the bread, and when we requested some, the owner refused to let us have any from the kitchen. I have no plans to return to this place. It's obvious why they are having difficulties drawing in customers lately.

Johnny and his wife are likely two of the most unethical people in Albany, GA, so I'm glad to see this restaurant shut down. I personally witnessed them being verbally abusive to their employees on several occasions. Believe me, they definitely won't be missed.

Unfortunately, the restaurant has closed, and we truly miss it. My favorite dish was the eggplant parmigiana, and the tiramisu was absolutely delicious! The ambiance was lovely, with beautiful decorations, including fountains and murals.
