Takeaway meals have also been disappointing, with the food being cold, dry, and expensive for the quality. For example, plain rice was cold, dry, and lumpy, and the scallop nigiri was dry and cold. Additionally, there have been occasions when we ordered sashimi but they constantly ran out of king fish. It might be helpful for the staff to improve communication with each other. Despite these issues, we will continue to visit as we genuinely enjoy the experience.
We visited this restaurant and had a disappointing experience. From ordering to receiving our meals, there were delays and the food was lukewarm. The entrée was served last and the kids meal took over 30 minutes. The quality of the food was average, but the prices were high. Overall, it was a pathetic experience. The miso soup was delivered minutes after our meals. It seemed like there was no management and no experienced staff. We won't be returning to this restaurant.
The quality of the food remains consistently high, but the service for dine-in customers has been lacking. On our last three visits, we experienced issues such as poorly timed meal delivery, restrictions on fresh ginger due to COVID, meals being brought out without plates or cutlery, and a lack of napkins at tables or the counter. While this level of service may be acceptable for a quick takeaway experience, it falls short for customers looking to enjoy a more leisurely meal. For the price we typically pay for one drink, a shared appetizer, and a main dish, we could easily get takeaway from nearby establishments. We urge the restaurant to reconsider their current approach and return to providing table service. Investing in staff to top up drinks and have a waiter explain each dish could result in higher priced meal sales. We hope that the management recognizes the importance of basic customer service and makes changes for the better.
My wife is japanese with high standards for japanese food, she has enjoyed many different dishes here. We love the food especially with cold asahi on tap. You can come just for a great coffee as well
I have been going to Tsuru since they first opened. The last few times I have gone the quality of the meat is awful. Oily and fatty, every time I have had to stop eating the meat and leave it. The rice is amazing though!...They change their food preparation without changing the menu. I ordered meat balls and got cut up fatty pieces of meat on a skewer.
