I got 2 pounds of dry ribs, a pound of hot links, and a pint of coleslaw. My order was ready in under 15 minutes and was brought out to my truck in the parking lot. Everything was just as I remembered. The ribs were cooked to perfection, and the hot links were equally delicious. The links came with semi-cooked sliced onions, while the ribs were served with their distinctive BBQ sauce. The coleslaw had less mayonnaise than other places, making it the perfect side for the BBQ. I've tried BBQ from all the other spots in town, and I have to say, the Quarters is number one in my opinion. Great job!
If this restaurant were in Texas, someone would be in big trouble. The pork sandwich was, without a doubt, the worst I've had since elementary school. The meat was drier than the Albuquerque landscape—brittle and hard, like bacon that had been freeze-dried and left under a heat lamp for a week. My coworker's ribs were somewhat acceptable, but he has made it clear that he won't be returning. The highlight of the meal was the home fries, which is pretty sad since they were just a side dish. The service wasn't great either; it seemed like the waitress was overwhelmed. The bar might be decent, but I have my doubts. I’d suggest skipping this place and finding some green hatch chiles instead—apparently that's a must-have for every meal in this town.
The BBQ beef sandwich featured slices of beef rather than the brisket style we’re used to. The meat itself lacked flavor—this is where Texas BBQ shines, as the meat usually undergoes several steps of flavoring. However, my partner found the BBQ sauce to be very good, with a nice smoky flavor; I agreed that their sauce was excellent. He enjoyed his sandwich overall, and in the end, he set aside his expectations and found satisfaction in his meal. We settled on a rating of 3.5 stars. Unfortunately, we couldn’t submit that, so we had to give it 3 stars instead. The service was lacking, as our waitress seemed overwhelmed, juggling too many tasks. The ambiance was also uninviting—it felt old and tired, and there were no windows to let in natural light. Overall, the experience was just okay. Would we come back? Probably not, but it seems like the locals support the place. To summarize what we liked: the generous portion of meat on both sandwiches and the excellent BBQ sauce.
It's been 40 years since I've been here, it was great then and great now. They have lots of beers on tap. We ordered the rib plate and it was soo good. If you haven't been here, you need to come. If it's been a while since you've been, then you need to come back
Family favorite since I was a kid. Hands down best BBQ pork ribs in ABQ. The BBQ sauce is mouth watering and the icing on the cake. If ribs had icing that is. Lol! Nothing like this sauce anywhere else. We drive all the way across town for these ribs ever since the NE location closed. Happy to support them now during Covid shutdowns and hope they never close their doors. THANK YOU to the gentleman who took care of us this weekend for the Championship Football games! We had a game day feast!
