We had some business at the Provincial Capitol and decided to try out this restaurant which is known for their specialty dish, Pancit Estacion. The pancit was similar to Pancit Malabon, topped with a generous amount of Mongo sprouts, boiled egg slices, shrimp, pork fat, and chicharon bulaklak. Unfortunately, the Mongo sprouts were not properly cleaned as we could still see the green skin of the seeds in our meal. On the other hand, the grilled chicken sandwich was delicious. I initially thought it would be grilled chicken pieces, but it turned out to be slices of Lechon Manok sandwiched between bread and served with thousand island dressing, cucumber slices, and salad. However, as you take a bite, the dressing tends to drip out. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and we won't be visiting again.
The food was fantastic. The Kare-kare was the best I've ever had, and I also really enjoyed the cattle caldereta. The restaurant had the charm of an old Filipino house, which I found more appealing than just focusing on Filipino cuisine.
We arrived in a rather empty restaurant before noon, but come lunchtime, the air-conditioned area and the al fresco dining room side were filled with customers. Wait staff are polite, neat look in their uniform and are attentive. Waiting for food is quite long considering that we were the only customers we ordered at the time, but it was worth waiting. Her crispy pata is the best I had on the date, crispy fried but the meat is tender and tasty. The chicken Java rice is also fantastic. I recommend you try this place. I hope they can add chicharong bulaklak in their menu.
I stopped there in May and enjoyed and excellent meal in air conditioned comfort. The service was good and the desert was wonderful.
