The camel burger offering might be off putting to some (with camel viewing close by! but no different to having beef or lamb at a pub after you've past thousands on the road give it a go! Make sure you take advantage of the...breakfast (if inc in your booking .
We stayed at Kings Creek Station couple of nights but only got to eat in the cafe once. The menu is limited, to say the least. It is a case of burgers or sandwiches. The place is rightly famous for its camel burgers, with the...basic model being the Dromedary and the top of the range offering the Bachtrian, which could have been called the Rainbow burger given its array of ingredients: two camel patties, bacon, fried egg, tomato, beetroot, pineapple and lettuce. I went for the Bachtrian and so glad I did. It was delicious and the best value for miles at just $14.50.
I stopped at this restaurant for lunch on my way up the road and decided to try their camel burger with a cold beer. The staff was lovely and accommodating, even giving me a half serve of chips. The setting was simple but charming. I recommend making a stop here for a unique and enjoyable experience on your journey.
The camel burger at Kings Creek Station is the most enjoyable burger of any type I've ever eaten delightfully sweet lean meat served on fresh bun with super fresh salad far exceeded any expectations in this remote location. A good range of other choices...available. The location was clean with very friendly and charming staff. Such a shame it isn't easy to visit regularly.
