Taste Of Soul - Allentown

Taste of soul doesn't live up to its name. It lacks the LOVE and TASTE of the SOUL. I ordered the fried chicken platter, the Mac and cheese was bland and lacked consistency with the cheeses. The greens were okay but it was also lacking flavor, no meat just a lot of spice and to be quite honest, I believe that the greens weren't washed before being prepped. The chicken's skin was good for the most part but the meat itself also lacked flavor and tasted like nothing but OIL. The only good thing that I ordered were the yams, nice taste but it tasted as if it was store brought brand and had way too much juice. The cornbread if that's what it was, didn't taste like cornbread, nor did it have a taste at all. I wish I could have given this review half a star but it wasn't an option. I just want to know who is the head cook, and if they're hiring, I can come give them a taste of my soul!?????????????????????? but overall the establishment itself was very clean.

I have made this restaurant a regular spot for me. The prices are quite affordable and the food is heavenly, just like my aunt's cooking. The smothered pork chops, fish, and turkey wings are all delicious. The only thing lacking is the sweet potato pie.

Best soul food spot in Allentown, PA and in the Lehigh Valley! Great food and great people! All proceeds go towards helping the children at The Caring Place.

This is one of my favorite downtown spots to eat because it feels so homey with good food and a comfortable ambience. I especially love the addition of Open Mic Nights (every other Friday 5-10pm) because it allows me to have a platform to be a Lehigh Valley poet. There's a special menu for these open mic nights as well, so I highly recommend coming through.

Ordered food via door dash. One of my orders were not correct. Asked for rice with one of my orders and received fries. Fries didn?t taste good at all. Potato Salad is not good either. Fried fish is very bland! Food portions are very small. None of the food I ordered didn?t taste good to me at all. First and last time ordering! No hard feelings! Best of luck to this establishment!
