They were right. The donuts are an excellent compromise between yeasty think Krispy Kreme) and caky think plain or New England cut). Even at 11:00 a.m. people were buying dozens at a time. Admittedly, it was limited selection at that time.
Hard to find something bad about this place honestly. We went later in the morning so they were sold out of some of the more popular or unique flavors so I guess if that's a negative, that's the one. Aside from that, there isn't much. The women working inside were all very friendly and helpful. One preferred the chocolate donut and one preferred the vanilla...so I got both. Samantha wanted to try the chocolate peanut butter so we grabbed one of those too. The flavor and quality of the donuts themselves was very solid. I couldn't choose between the vanilla and chocolate, I enjoyed them both a lot, and equally. The Chocolate Peanut Butter was also very good with some PB pumped into the center. Prices were competitive...would go back for sure. Mary Ann Donut Kitchen Didn't Suck!
These donuts are just Stuuuupid!!! When I say that I really hope you know I mean they are of the most legit donuts I've ever had in my 58 years! Mary Ann's has permanently ruined any other donuts that most people are used to!!!
Wow!! Dunkin' Donuts should hide their head or they should come to this place to learn how to make donuts! Wow. I haven't had a good doughnut in a while . I got the pretzel sized glazed and the apple. They close at one and they were very few donuts left, which tells you something. I guess I could tell you that they don't make enough donuts, but I'm sure that what they really telling you is there's a big demand for quality! And the staff is very hospitable, unfortunately, an exception to the rule it seems nowadays unfortunately I live 2 1/2 hours away, but would be tempted to make the trip. That's how good they are.
Mary Ann Donut Kitchen is a great local spot in Allentown for some fresh donuts. They have a great variety of donuts in the morning, which I'm sure many of which run out before they close up shop for the day. While not the best I've had, the donuts are still very solid and taste much better and fresher than chain stores. The chocolate glazed and cinnamon donuts (4/5) were crunchy and packed a decent (but not great) flavor, but not as moist as some of the 5-star-worthy places I've been. The ladies that work there are super friendly and on top of their game in getting patrons in out quickly with their donut selections. The only minor negatives are that not all the donuts are labeled and there is a $10 minimum to use a credit card. Overall, it's a place I'd definitely return to satisfy a donut craving.
