I ordered an omelet with bacon in it instead of a hint of rugged bacon, there were several delicious beautiful pieces. My husband said his pancakes were the best he ever had. It's true, so I can't be insulted! I could go on and on... The only drawback is that they are not open around the clock!
Cosy atmosphere, 3 MAYBE 4 bar stools too cozy to the counter and get coffee and watch Cheryl cook their magic. This location can be easily missed (I did) as it does not look like a place to eat. Where the locals eat! Auctions happen 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month at noon
The Auction Yard Cafe is the place to eat while in Alturas! The wait was a little long because of the smaller kitchen, and only seats about 30 people at a time. Floor was a little stucky... but meh, not a big deal. Food did not all come out together but pretty close, it was hot and fresh! Wendy our server was amazing and kept up with the rush, and made sure we were all doing good. Coffee was a bit strong for my liking, hot coco was really good! Very highly recommended!
Big food big portions it's kind of old, but the chicken fried steak is the best thing I've ever had hands down the staff are friendly, not so much the farmers who visit the place, but that doesn't bother me, but yes, if your hunger is the right place
Home Style Cooking! The burgers are not stuck together by a frozen bag of mysterious meat. They are hand-patterned, just like at home! There are also soups great. Whether you've just left your horse, the cows have moved all day or raised in this shiny Lexus, go in, you won't be disappointed whatever you're a Hichnering for!
