No member of staff wearing a face covering when serving. Difficult to believe they all have exemption certificates do they know there is now legislation for them to do so. Did not feel at all safe to eat here. Went to Christmas luncheon with a group of friends. Lumb Farm informed before hand there was two on our table gluten intolerant. They conveniently forgot when serving mince pies, said they had not been informed anyone was gluten intolerant even though we showed them the proof in writing. My main meal was the very last to be served, they were serving desert on an adjoining table of friends; and was served on a cold plate stone cold not edible. When complained returning an almost full plate no response. Service was very slow and cannot say servers at all helpful
We arrived at night and parking was no issue, despite being busy, loads of space! It felt very safe as it was off the main roads, remote but “not too remote”. We were warmly welcomed by reception and “very polite” staff, who even though they were busy, would stop what they were doing to help us. The management had put the heating on in advance which was a really nice touch especially as the nights we’re getting chilly. Rooms were very clean, plenty of towels on heated radiator and instant hot water. The bed was really clean and comfortable, so we enjoyed a blissfully quiet nights sleep. zzzz Beautiful views in the morning
Two of us went for afternoon tea recently and it was lovely! A variety of tasty sandwiches, sausage rolls with a bowl of salad and one of crisps, and then assorted cakes and scones with jam and cream. All served on a pretty mix of china crockery. The service was friendly and efficient, nothing seemed too much trouble. Plenty of tea in lovely teapots, I think the refills could have been endless! Personally, I prefer a pot of hot water too as tea soon becomes strong but I'm sure, if I'd asked, this would not have been a problem. Lumb Farm is in a great position with smashing views and plenty of car parking. I'd certainly recommend the afternoon tea at Lumb Farm, it's great value and the staff are brilliant. Also, we felt very safe, having our temperatures taken on arrival, plenty of hand sanitisers around and staff wearing masks and following social distancing measures.
Well what can I say But what an excellent experience from start to finish the owner greeted us on arrival with such a warm welcome And explained to us there Covid-19 restrictions were. from taking our Temperature on arrival and all staff in PPE at all times keeping there selves safe and more importantly all of us safe was there main priority. And for the food It was delicious. We will be visiting there again and would highly recommend for any occasion with stunning views friendly staff and impeccable food Thank you once again for making our Daughter and son in-laws Day so special.
