Hy-vee Market Grille Express - Ames

I was very disappointed with my recent visit. The only entree available was a stir-fry with pork and green beans, which lacked flavor. The other options included sweet and sour fried chicken, General Tso's chicken, and sesame chicken, all drenched in sauce. I opted for the sesame chicken, but it was soggy and unappetizing instead of crispy. I usually enjoy dishes like Kung Pao chicken, Mongolian beef, beef or chicken with broccoli, and garlic chicken with vegetables. I'm not sure if I'll return, as this place doesn't hold a candle to House of Chen!

The fried rice was undercooked, too crunchy, and lacked flavor. The orange chicken was drenched in sauce, seemingly an attempt to mask the blandness of the chicken. The egg roll resembled damp cardboard. I won’t be returning. Such a waste of money.

The quality of the Asian food here is exceptional and delicious! The chef, Thevu, really elevates the cuisine. It's the best fast food option in Ames. We particularly love the beef and broccoli as well as the sesame chicken.

Cant go wrong with Hy-Chi.
