I...asked the waiter where the mussels came from and he said Normandy and I told him of my disappointment,
Fabulous location and host. My dishes (savoury crepe and lamb shank) delicious but my wife (goats cheese and scallops) did not thrill! Good wine choice and not bad value.
I was on a WW II Tour, stopped in Amiens for Lunch. I walked into your Restaurant, was quickly served with great food. The waitstaff did NOT speak English That was NOT a problems as they understood Hungry, Food Quick They had a wonderful...LOCAL dark beer, that I wish I could get in the States You can 't do better that le 31.....
Arrived at this restaurant on the waterfront. Drinks and food order taken. One hour later, still no food. Watched people around us receive their orders and eat their entire meal whilst we waited for ours. Asked waiter where our food order was. His response was... 'we are busy and it is coming. Continued to wait. 'Busy ' did not explain why people who had arrived after us had received their food before us. 'Busy ' also didn 't explain why noone had bothered to check in and offer drinks in that whole entire hour or even chase our order up. We had to stop the waitress the second time round to again ask where our meals were. She asked and eventually the waiter informed us our meal was next. By this time we were ready to get up and leave. You know it is bad when local people start telling you the service has been particularly bad in our case. Finally, our meal arrived. It was over an hour by this time and eating and leaving was the priority by then. Le 31 plays on the fact it is in a scenic location. Looking at reviews, there are plenty of comments about the long service. If this is a regular occurrence, then reduce the amount of tables you can cater for or employ more people. There are plenty of lovely restaurants in Amiens. Don 't be fooled by the location of the waterfront. Food also expensive which makes the whole situation even worse. My advice is to look elsewhere for a better service where 'busy ' isn 't an issue. Service here is not consistent and it doesn 't deserve the custom.
With 31 is nothing wrong, eating was tasty enough when a little spiced over the board. everyone was very friendly, but we found in comparison to other restaurants in amiens it was a little expensive for what they get. based on prices...is increasingly expected not to be wrong with him, but there are better places to eat in amiens that offer a better value.
