Do be specific about every thing though. Bacon crispy, potatoes hot and not blackened, eggs pretty much done the usual ways. Coffee good and strong. Fudge pieces on the way out for a snack.
I've experienced terrible service in a restaurant before but never terrible service combined with the unacceptable attitude of the Manager at this location.A rating of "Disappointing" is only half-way to "Horribly Unacceptable"Arrived at the restaurant at about 12:30; was fairly busy but not full or packed. We were seated within a couple of minutes. Were shown to our table and left. waited about 15-20 minutes before the waitress finally acknowledged our existence, took our order (strawberry crepes with a side of bacon and Ben et Dictine (2 eggs, asparagus and swiss cheese)). Brought coffees within a minute or two and left, never to return. Finished our coffees in 10 to 15 minutes and sat there getting more and more angry. After 50 minutes (1:20) we were fuming and decided to leave. We went to the front station and asked for the Manager, a server/hostess left to get him; he came out fairly promptly.I had 2 questions I wanted to ask him: 1) What would he feel is an acceptable amount of time to wait before being acknowledged by staff? 2) What would he feel is an acceptable amount of time to have to wait for a meal?He came out, not friendly at all, cut me off before I could say anything and said he was sorry, he knows, but they're really much busier than they expected to be and it's not his fault there is nothing he can do about it (in a very abrupt, non-apologetic manner). I asked if he wasn't the Manager, he said he was and I said then it is his responsibility. He started to argue but I said "back to my original questions that I wanted to ask you..." He said "Don't stick your finger in my face" in a threatening manner. I looked down ahead of my right hip: my left forefinger was touching the knuckle of my right forefinger down by my stomach/right hip (sub-consciously "counting" off the 2 points I wanted to make, I suppose). I said "I'm not sticking my finger in your face." He said "Don't you point your finger at me." I said I'm not pointing my finger at you. He wasn't allowing me to state my point; I suddenly got over-frustrated, gave up talking to him and turned away, threw my hands in the air and (unfortunately) frustratedly said "Oh fxxx off" as I started to walk away. He said "Get out" and turned and walked to the back. This person is rude, obviously incapable of running a restaurant and obviously incapable of dealing with the public.I like Cora restaurants, but I won't be back to the Ancaster location as long as that person is involved. For Cora's sake, I hope he isn't one of the franchisees of this location.
Poor service..no glasses, greasy bread, bill before meal..I could go on. Bread not toasted..and greasy..i dont want butter or grease from grill on my bread; whatever it was.
Great all round place for generous repast. Service welcoming and quick. Came in for late lunch and left stuffed. Several lunch specials come with soup, salad or desert. Their decor is quaint and and unique to the Cora brand. Good French-Canadian home style cooking!!
Located in a strip mall with lots of parking. Clean and well lit.Breakfast is not your typical greasy bacon and eggs. Lots of variety with a large menu.Everything from lite fare like fruit and yogurt parfaits to waffles, pancakes, omelettes and all the way to a contractor's breakfast with 3 eggs and lots of meat. They always include some fruit to alleviate the guilt......Priced a little higher than the average breakfast diner but definitely worth it.
