We sat out in the patio and idk if it's the concrete out there or what but it was super loud and hard to have a conversation with my own table. It was very busy that day on the patio though too. Definitely would go again though.
Food was really good and great price. Long time to get our food but they made it up to my wife with a free margarita.
This small restaurant is fantastic! The food was delicious and they have a great selection of tequila.
Saw lots of high reviews, so I gave it a shot. Very average food. Not bad, but underwhelmed.Basic enchiladas and tacos. Taco meat had no distinctive taste, basically no seasoning to it. Tasted like hamburger meat with salt and pepper. Enchiladas ends were hard and dry, the sauce on top was minimal, had to ask for more.Rice had several large clumps. When I arrived there were only three occupied tables so not busy until I left.Mexican food in Southern states is so much better. You can taste richness and the cultural spices, not hot, just more flavor that you can taste and even smell as food arrives at table. I've eaten at 7 different Mexican restaurants in the area and that seems to be a pattern. Again, not bad, just so so tasteParking: In a strip mall so ample parking available
We come to this restaurant for its affordable prices, which are the most reasonable in Ankeny, and the food is still quite delicious. The service is a bit slow, so it's best not to visit when you're in a rush. I do wish that the chips were either fresher or less fried, as they taste a bit overcooked.
