Top O' The River - Anniston

I love this restaurant! I've been here since I was a little girl! Food is consistently good! The service is quick and friendly and the costs will not break the bank! This layer is actually on water. A pond is outside the restaurant. You can emigrate on the deck and see the catfish in the water. Ducks will often be in the parking lot when you arrive. The catfish is AMAZING! The whole Wels dinner comes with three pieces of fish, Hush puppies and fries or a baked potato. You don't have many pages, but the Hush puppies are great! When you sit down, they will bring you a little skill of corn bread, Cole Slaw and pickled onions! This fits well with the appetizers of crowned greens! You can get a big or small green! Finally, the sweet tea is always SWEET! Really sweet tea drinkers know what I mean! I'm definitely back!

It has been since the previous visit and a few things have changed, but the food is still good. Prices are appropriate for the large amount of food. The service was also great, by all employees. We drove two hours on several occasions to feed here. This pickled onion, OmG!

Came to visit all the way from Georgia as I heard good things and I was not despised!! Had a party of 10 and was immediately sitting no problem for my mother's birthday everything came very well and the waitress treated us with ease. We will come back

Delicious food, but very expensive!! Great waiter and didn't have to wait for him to sit. BUT, I give only 4 stars, not because of food or service, but because of their system that does not work, and must wait to pay. First they need a better way to pay people in a position. When I went up, I asked where the line was and came in the line. But several people just went up and paid before me, and the cash registers noticed, but nothing said. The only reason I take this is when I reached the counter to pay the systems were crashed! They told me I couldn't pay with a card, they didn't know how long it would be. I should wait. The line was extremely long at this point. After waiting for a while, a family member was there, paid my ticket in cash, and I was out. Anything to say... Get down with the system! Again the food was delicious, the waiter was great! We didn't have to wait until we were sitting. BUT, you have money to pay... only in case the cashier said it happened before!

I know times are tough but the size of the catfish filets have gotten way smaller than a couple of years ago. Not to mention what kind of fish place doesnt have malt vinegar for the filets? This place use to be a 5 star but seriously the amount of food you use to get was worth the 5 stars but now I am reluctantly giving 3 stars. The ranch dressing I had for fry dipping tasted like straight up mayo in a cup and the honey mustard my husband had for his chicken fingers was just nasty. The imitation crab was not what you use to get by any means. In order to keep people coming back you have to maintain food quality and I just didnt feel that what we had yesterday was your best quality. Even the jalapeño cornbread was smaller and had less jalapeño in it. After an 1-1/2 drive in from Georgia just to eat here I am sadly very disappointed and probably wont be back.
