The company drove us on a truck with open air seats. we learned so much about coffee growing and making. Apparently, Guatemala is one of the best coffee growers in the world. Many Asian and European customers come here to purchase their coffee beans every year. We learned that coffee tree was introduced to the region from Ethiopia. The best coffee bean specie is the Arabica. After the tour we bought a few bags of Arabica coffee to bring home. My kids love them. One word of caution is that, it’s hard to get a tax or Uber from this location. It took us almost 45 minutes to get an Uber
Our tour group had the best breakfast at the Finca Filadelfia Restaurant before the coffee plantation tour. We sat under cover with splendid view of gardens, tropical forested hills, and volcanic peaks. They combined traditional and modern breakfasts together, but with a gourmet touch. Don't let me underestimate how good the food and coffee is. We were here two years ago and deliberately came back this time. Also peruse the gift shop which features good examples of the crafts you find in Antigua, but without the crowds.
Finca Filadelfia is walking distance from my house and it’s a biweekly, at least destination for me. I️ have had a few not-so-great experience there but their service recovery keeps me coming back. Their prices recently increased and they taped the new prices into their menu which I️ find hideous and tacky, hopefully they will get new menus printed soon. Will update an incident which occurred 01/14, will never return.
In a open space they want to force you to buy a mask for 5 quetzales per person when as a client you going to consume . Guards very unprofessional . for a business if they want to enforce mask regulation on a open are they should provide a mask that costs around 50cents of quetzal. Very disappointed for this situation.
Simply stunning resort is in a 150 year old coffee plantation!!! A coffee lover's paradise. Breathtaking scenery delight the senses. Educational tours and to wrap it up, your very own expresso!! Also went on mule around the plantation. Ask for Manuel best tour guide ever!
