We sat by the wood burning stove in this delightful coffee shop which retains the original floor of its previous life as The Paragon Pub. We were spoilt for choice with scones: pear and ginger; lemon and lavender; cinnamon and apple and many others. The lovely waitress offered us complementary refills of coffee and we could see other customers enjoying her chat. A lovely place to meet for a cuppa.
Had spotted this café one day, after just having had coffee in another establishment, and thought it looked intriguing, so looked forward to a visit. A week later we headed for Comber, both for the excellent Farmers' Market, and to try out Coat Makers. A cosy, wood burning stove created a lovely atmosphere, along with a fascinating array of old memorabilia displayed on the walls. A friendly couple guessed it was our first visit and told us that customers choose food items and bring them to their table. Then the owner waitress lovely, friendly girl...take your pick!.....takes drink order. As it was a cold day I opted for a cinnamon steamer which was perfect and my husband enjoyed his cappuccino. The cinnamon and apple scone which we had chosen was probably the best I've ever eaten, not overly sickly sweet as so many are. Highly recommend this café and plan to take time on next visit to look around and check out the jewellery and ceramic items on sale, plus the unique ladies' coats etc created in the adjoining shop.
Excellent service and lovely food, all in front of a wood burning stove. Lovely atmosphere and highly recommended.
Scones just lovely. Such a nice place. Lovely to sit and relax and catch up with friends and look at the lovely clothing.
Just there for coffee and a scone. Both were very good and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Strongly recommended.
