La Benita de los claustros - Arequipa

Nice place to eat offering traditional food of Arequipa. I thought it was expensive for the plate. Friendly server! La Benita also offers Typical Peruvian Cooking classes.

In this restaurants, they have some vegetarian dishes. Some of them are adapted, typical Peruvian dishes. Prices are a little bit higher than the cheap restaurants, but still not expensive. Nice and calm place to sit, also outside in the sun!

We got quite exited when we arrived . The restaurant est at a back of a beautiful monetary yard. You are welcome by a nice dressed lady. The large choice of set menus seems very interesting. We were 8 of us so we order a...couple of menu to try out the maximum of dishes and it was a large désappointement. Most of the dishes were just bad cooked. I had the worst ceviche since I arrived in Peru just too spicy and many stuffed with oignon and not much else. The guinea pig was too dry , all the potatoes too cooked ...

Simply fabulous! All the staff who work at the restaurant are charming. You feel they are your friends forever, because of the way they explain each dish and guide you through the entire experience. One of my favorite dishes was the frozen cheese ice cream,...exquisite! Another night I returned to eat one, after dinner. The fried cheese is also delicious and the stuffed rocotto can not be missed. I recommend that it be the first restaurant you visit in Arequipa, you will not regret it! Good prices.
