Had a Ploughman's Platter while my friends had the Sweetcorn Fritters with salad - all yummy, service was fairly quick considering the number of customers. The only downside was the echoey noise of the Cafe - we actually chose to sit outside in the relative cold so we could hear each other.
This excellent cafe is located within the complex of Armidale's (also excellent) regional art gallery. It is a pleasant, airy space, with seating inside and out. Their coffee is excellent and they sell some very tempting cakes - can recommend the carrot cupcakes and the peach and macadamia slice. Didn't stay for lunch but the ploughman's plate looked good. Next time.
The hot chocolate is delightful and goes great with the brownies or scones. It doesn't matter what I order for breakfast I always get a side of halloumi and it is always excellent (even my dad thinks so and he is so picky).
Dropped into a crowded Studio 52 for a Saturday lunch after too long away and luckily got a table. The clientele are mainly professionals and university types or interest groups having a posh lunch meeting. Good menu with extensive GF options available. Coffee good, staff young and enthusiastic while Chef Dave continues his culinary magic. Probably best to book for weekend brunch and lunch.
