Mirador La Tranca - Aserri

The restaurant is beautiful, with a spectacular view over San José (although we didn’t see much of it because the mists closed in soon after we were seated). Some nights, there is traditional Costa Rican music and dance, which we enjoyed hearing and seeing. The service was very welcoming and efficient. The food was good, not outstanding. The house wine, a Chilean cabernet, was quite good.

Beautiful view, great service and food. Unfortunately we went on a Wednesday, too early; but the hosts were very accommodating and served us anyway!

It was the most dangerous trip to get there. I was told 20 minutes from them it took an hour. The service was horrible worse than the food. Never came to ask how our meal was or if we wanted another drink or coffee or dessert. We waited and waited for our check until my husband finally had to motion with napkin for check. Steak not cooked to our liking but we couldn’t tell anyone and just ate a few bite. View was the nicest because thank God the weather was nice. Cultural show was a joke. Really sad our last night and was the worse meal..

I have forgotten how bad customer service is at this place, after many years I came back upon request and the one thing that remained the same was the bad customer service.

Beautiful view. The restuarant is lovely, candles on the table. Great atmosphere. We celebrated my birthday here while in Costa Rica. Food was amazing. Waitstaff was attentive but not cloying. The owner stopped by to make sure everything was great. The view of San Jose was amazing. It was a memorable birthday!
