I Am Cafe - Ashland

I just started a cleanse today...but happened to get a chance to stop in I Am today. The meat looked great. The shrimp being prepped behind the counter for shrimp and grits smelled garlicky and great. The desserts.... But.... on a cleanse. So I ordered the rice and veggies bowl. It was super simple: brown rice, cabbage, broccoli, mushies. Could it be just that? Salt pepper butter... Perfect! So tasty and perfectly cooked. I love healthy peasant food and this meal is cheap enough to come here instead of making it at home. And if they do this good with simple veggies I am really looking forward to their regular meals are like!

LaShawn is so sweet. She is the owner of the cafe and she has always welcomed me with a warm smile. I've been here a couple of times and each time she was always kind. I have only had their coffee, but any item under her drinks are delicious. I love her mocha because it has a rich flavor to it. And her chai lattes is not the powdered type but it taste way more natural than other chai lattes. Her sandwiches all look tasteful and I can't wait to try one hopefully soon! I would suggest buying candle from her. The ones I smelled, smell really good. I also love the atmosphere of the cafe. It's quiet enough to get work done, but it's also spacious enough to have a meal or good conversation.

If you want great service, with great atmosphere this is the place. I was traveling and stopped in Ashland for something to eat. The laughter while friends stopped to see the owner was infectious! Real home look, real home feel! Delicious Food! *would definitely recommend!

I'm looking forward to many visits to this coffee shop. Great customer service. Delicious breakfast sandwiches. Good coffee. Great deserts. They have art from local artists on their walls for sale (reasonably priced too). Live music some days (check the schedule).

Delicious breakfast items from the I AM cafe. This business is locally owned and operated in Ashland! They also offer sandwiches, pound cakes, salads, and more ! Espresso and coffee drinks also : I definitely am going to return to this business to try more amazing food items. The breakfast sandwich on ciabatta had pork belly, egg, and cheese and was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had !
