Our waitress struggled to take our orders, requiring three trips to our table. Despite there only being six people in the entire restaurant, we waited twenty minutes for our meals. My companion had to send back his poached eggs because they were essentially raw. I ordered chicken fried steak, but instead of a hand-breaded piece of meat, I received what was clearly a pre-breaded frozen patty that had just been thawed on the grill. To top it off, my breakfast potatoes were cold. The only good thing I can say is that the coffee was quite nice.
The service was good and the hot food was decent, but I’ve been charged for credit instead of cash on gas more than three times, including twice by the manager, Steven. Those 10 cents per gallon add up quickly!
The food is excellent and worth the price. However, be prepared for a wait during the day shift, particularly on Sundays, due to a staffing issue in the kitchen. I experienced a wait of up to 40 minutes, even with just a couple of other tables occupied. On a positive note, all the waitstaff are friendly and pleasant. It's also great to have a full bar available, so you can enjoy a drink with your meal.
I stumbled across this place when another restaurant in town was closed. I have never been back to the other place. It is fantastic. The food is great, the staff is super friendly. Makes you feel like you are having a meal at a friends house. They have the best home made ranch.
This is an ideal small-town diner! The food is delicious and always tastes fresh, and the service is friendly. If you're traveling between Sandpoint and Coeur d'Alene, make sure to stop by!
