You can order from the menu, but the concept is designed around the tasting menu. We did the 9-course tasting menu. The cornbread with cream cheese was one of four 'snacks ' that came in addition to the 9 courses. Not sure what they use for cornmeal, but it was the best cornbread I 've ever had in my life. As for the rest of the meal, the desserts stood out. The food overall was a 4 out of 5 for the price, but that 's misleading. For a place with such creative combos, there weren 't many (any? where even not so adventurous eaters reacted to with a 'nice try, but it 's a little much for me. ' 4 out of 5 mostly, but very consistent. The presentation was top notch. Very pleasant and great for Instagram if you 're into that. As a Southern man marrying a Colombian woman, I really enjoy the combo of the head chef and owner (Southern man and Costa Rican wife. Makes for great and unusual food combos. As for the service, it was attentive (lots of drink refills, detailed explanations of each dish .However, due to the way the restaurant website markets itself, I was expecting more social conversation from the 6 or so employees cooking and such just a few feet away. Also, the bar stools aren 't super comfortable for a 90-minute plus meal. They should consider installing a metal bar on which to rest your feet. To me, this is a twice a year spot for a 1-on-1 romantic dinner date. It 's not perfect, but I feel that every time you go you are going to have a better than good overall experience.
Great chief's tasting course. This 9 course experience was a fantastic one. We had an awesome time watching cheifs working on our foods. Defiantly coming back here again.
Really great food. We ordered 2 starters, 3 first course, 1 second course and a dessert. All of the flavors melded well together. The treat of the night was definitely the potato tortellini and the bacon fat caramel corn. It's noisy inside and not the best place for conversational dining. But if you're looking to appease your palate, you can't go wrong here. Kudos to the chef!
Wow! This was the second time my wife visited and each time has really been an incredible dining experience from start to finish. If all restaurants put the same amount of love and passion into their work as these folks do, the world would be a better place. We chose the 9 course meal and it was truly outstanding. The chefs are not only talented but humorous and you can tell they're passionate about what they do. If you have dietary restrictions, they will accommodate you and tailor your selections accordingly. If choosing the 9 course deal, be prepared for a 90-120 minute visit. Highly recommended!
One of the best restaurant in Atlanta hands down. A holy matrimony of amazing quality and good value for its price point. Better half has this subtle exterior that had passing through more times than I'd like to admit before eventually giving it a try. Better half's decor gives of this semi-casual, thursday afternoon homey vibe. If you'd like to see the chefs prep your meal, do give the bar sitting a try. Otherwise enjoy a nice Atlanta fall weather on the few outside tables they have. Their menu is creative and works well. No flavor was too dominating in the dish; nothing is screaming in your face. They change their menu regularly so it's definitely worth visiting more thab once. Their 3 course happy hour tasting meal between 530PM to 730PM is a great offer at $35. It might be just the segue for you into loving this gem.
