This is a fantastic spot for grabbing Mediterranean food on the go. While you have the option to dine inside or on the patio, I prefer to use their app for pickup. Updated from my previous review on April 27, 2023.
I visited this restaurant for the first time and ordered the combination plate, but I was quite disappointed. There were only three pieces of falafel, and they looked like half pieces (see photo). While the falafel and rice had decent flavor, the baba ghanoush and hummus were lacking. I could hardly taste the eggplant in the baba ghanoush at all. Additionally, the packaging left something to be desired; the tahini sauce was poured over the rice and other items in the middle of the plate, which made a mess.
After dining at numerous falafel restaurants, I have to say that this one was quite disappointing. The falafel portions were small, and the rest of the platter was merely average. The most unfortunate part was the lentil soup; it was flavorless and truly subpar.
This restaurant brought back memories from over 20 years ago, reminiscent of the original Mamoun's Falafel in Greenwich Village, NYC. I fondly recall sharing shawarma and our beloved mango and mint juice with family and friends. The flavors here are quite similar, but the menu has expanded, which I assume is what diners are looking for these days. Just a heads up: only the chicken is halal, not the beef.
