I likely wouldn’t have ordered it for myself, but I have absolutely no regrets. It was perfectly sweetened, topped with a light foam and a sprinkle of turmeric powder that inspired me to exclaim, "It's good and good for me!" (Just so you know, turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory ingredient.) For breakfast, I opted for the American breakfast platter to enjoy a little bit of everything. Similar to a combo plate, it includes a choice of grits or potatoes, eggs, and a protein option. There is a lot to love about this place, especially since Petit Chou is very vegetarian-friendly (they even offer veggie sausages for the American breakfast). I ordered my eggs scrambled, and I’m not sure what the chef does to them, but the texture was almost cloud-like. Both carb options are fantastic. I went with the potatoes but also specially requested a side of grits (because why settle for one when you can have both?). I would have liked the potatoes to be a bit crispier, but they were well-seasoned. The fact that I scraped the bottom of the grits bowl is a testament to how well they are made here. Most importantly, I appreciated that there was nothing particularly extravagant or out-of-the-ordinary on my plate, yet every single item was executed flawlessly. The brunch menu is straightforward—just a single page—but I have no doubt that everything is delicious. Lastly, the service was exceptional. When our server, Danny, noticed that my friends and I were catching up after some time apart, he gave us plenty of space to chat while keeping an attentive eye on our needs.
I typically visit this restaurant for breakfast, which is always fantastic. However, my recent dinner experience was simply amazing! Every dish we ordered tasted incredibly fresh, from the potato leek soup that we savored until the very last spoonful to the vegetable paella loaded with fresh vegetables and artichokes, with just the right amount of rice. I requested my salmon to be cooked, and it turned out perfect—crispy on the outside without being overcooked. The caprese salad featured heirloom tomatoes, a fresh basil pesto dressing, and creamy mozzarella... We will definitely be returning!
We visited for brunch after enjoying a great dinner a few months ago, but our brunch experience left us hesitant to return anytime soon. We waited nearly 45 minutes for our food, which arrived at room temperature. Despite our hunger, I left feeling unsatisfied. The avocado toast I ordered for $12.50 felt like a letdown; it had way more cream cheese than avocado, making it feel more like a piece of toast topped with fancy cream cheese, arugula, and small bits of watermelon radish. While the cream cheese was tasty, our server seemed quite absent and not in the best mood. I suspect she might have forgotten to put our order in. Overall, we left feeling pretty disappointed. I’d rate it 2.5 stars.
We went at 7 on a Thursday. We sat at the bar and got a bottle of wine and then ordered. It was pretty quick and the food was amazing. We had lamb lollipops and a cheese plate for appetizers then we had the duck and Cajun chicken. Everything wasincredible! 10/10 would recommend.
They were pretty busy, even on a Monday morning, so it took a while to get our food. When it did come it was amazing. They have some unique breakfast options like croque madames and Belgian waffles, and good gluten-free options like grits bowls. Theirflavored lemonade is also delicious.
