The restaurant is quite spacious with plenty of seating options, including three booths, bar seating, high-top tables, and small tables for parties in the center. Now, let’s talk about the food. We started with the edamame, and I know it may sound trivial, but they were SO plump! Next, we had the Pork Gyoza. I've never been a fan of dumplings, but I actually enjoyed these; the filling was soft while the edges were perfectly crisp. The flavor lingered in my mind for days. We also tried the Brussels sprouts, which were fried with tempura sauce, and I must say, all the fried items on the menu are cooked to perfection—so crispy! The karaage came with spicy mayo, and once again, it was incredibly crispy and delicious when paired with the lettuce it was served on. For something new, I tried the Takoyaki. I'm usually not a fan of this dish, but since it was my first time here, I gave it a shot. The inside was more finely chopped than usual, which I preferred, as I’m not fond of the octopus texture. It made for a much more savory bite. Now for the ramen: the signature tonkotsu features a base of their house ramen sauce and black garlic oil, and it was packed with flavor. The Karashi spicy ramen had tender, juicy pork chashu. This one is similar to the signature but includes a fresh chili paste. You can choose your spice level—mild, medium, or spicy. I didn’t specify, so I received the standard, which had a nice kick to it—maybe around a 2 on a scale of 1 to 5. The noodles were wonderfully chewy, and both soups were seasoned superbly. I can't wait to return and try some of their rice dishes!
The service was prompt, the staff was friendly, and the portion sizes were generous. The curry ramen dishes were particularly popular. The restaurant is spacious and offers pet-friendly seating outside. Prices are very reasonable.
I was a little worried that this place would skew more trendy than authentic given the neighborhood, but the food was excellent. I had the kagaare chicken and the house special tonkatsu ramen. The chicken was perfectly cooked and crispy (and somehow got crispier the longer it was out) the the flavor of the ramen was spot on. The only drawback to the experience was the service, which was nice, but very very slow. There were only two tables dining at the time, so they weren't slammed. But sometimes these things happen. *shug* Would definitely return.
Had the signature tonkatsu, absolutely loaded with pork and I asked for it 'pretty spicy ' and got a deliciously mouth numbing bowl of fantastic ramen. They gyoza was kinda glued together but it tasted good too. Wife got the combo ramen, loved it.
Ordered the spicy chicken ramen. Man was it good, has lots of flavor, not to salty. The spicy level for me was great, it will clear up your sinuses pretty quick. If you are not into spicy food stick with the non spicey. For those that like the kick in there food, go with the spicey and you won't be disappointed. The crispy chicken was fried awesome, crispy on the outside and juicy/moist on the inside. The staff was super nice, only thing I noticed was that they don't check up on you at all since I got the food. But I can deal with that. Overall great place to eat.
