First time here and had a great experience. The guy that served us kept checking up on us regularly even though it was a full house. Cocktails are nice and strong, not overly sweet the Margherita pizza is delicious and was demolished in about 2 minutes. Will definitely be back again.
Great selection of craft beers. Kid friendly. Good honest food. Great local establishment. Easy to book online and warm friendly staff. Have been many times, great quiz night on Wednesdays and looking forward to comedy night!<br/
Alberts post is one of the best additions to Mt Albert. Top quality service, great selecting of craft beers and superb food. We often head since opening last year, and have never been disappointed. We are happy to recommend
Edited review<br/ Alberts post were keen to put things right after our first experience and followed up with us in person. Good work. We tried it again for a weekend lunch and I’m pleased to say had an excellent meal. I had the beef and bacon jam burger which was delicious and plentiful. My wife the calamari and daughter the bao bun. All meals were good reasonably priced pub type fare. Happy to upgrade the original review rating as a result<br/ <br/ Original review<br/ <br/ We were really keen to try Albert's Post for a meal and drink. It's close to home, there aren't that many in walking distance in Mt Albert. Started well, the place has a nice layout and ambiance, friendly and welcoming. Good selection of craft beers and other drinks. I liked that you can order a 200ml glass of craft beer, so you can try several. Unfortunately, the experience went a bit downhill when we ordered food. I ordered an eye fillet steak medium, my wife a Quesadilla and some Calamari for starter and decided to start on a 200 ml wheat beer. The kitchen was apparently short staffed so food took a while, which wasn't a problem. However, the calamari arrived at the same time as the mains which meant we were eating this while our mains were getting cold. Still, not too big a deal, the calamari was nice enough and we were hungry. The fillet however was poorly seasoned, under cooked, tough and full of gristle, I'm seriously not convinced it was an eye fillet cut... I get **** happens sometimes, but it would have been nice if one of the wait staff that passed by had asked how the meals were, or asked if we wanted another beer at any time. Nope, just took the plates away, with the pile of leftover gristle centre stage... Not even when I paid the bill was I asked if the meal had been OK. Staff were friendly, but these are basics, surely you'd be keen to sell us some more drinks if nothing else? So overall, not a great experience unfortunately, We were disappointed, as we were keen to support a local startup with what is a good concept. I'll probably give it another go in the hopes that this was a random bad experience or beginners teething issues.
