Kyo-ya Japanese - Auckland

The restaurant offers an authentic Japanese dining experience, with beautifully presented dishes. I particularly appreciated the open kitchen design, which allows diners to see how their meals are prepared and interact with the chefs. I highly recommend trying the dinner sets. We ordered four different sets, and each one exceeded our expectations. The Asian Taste dinner set included sashimi, tempura, teriyaki chicken, and smaller portions of both rice and udon, providing a delightful variety of flavors and excellent value. The Kiwi dinner set and the dinner box were also wonderfully crafted, each bursting with diverse tastes—we didn't even know where to start! Everything was incredibly delicious. We were pleasantly surprised to find both chicken and fish in our teriyaki dinner set; both were freshly cooked and very flavorful. I can't recommend this place highly enough! I only wish we had a restaurant like this in the heart of Auckland.

The Japanese food here is absolutely fantastic! Everything is fresh and crispy, making it incredibly delicious. I'll definitely be returning, as the hospitality is wonderful!

So amazing experience here. Everything was delicious and well presented. The staff was attentive and friendly. Just consider booking a table as it can be quite busy, and it can wait a bit, but it is worth it.

The real deal when it comes to Japanese food in NZ. Thanks for some of their menu offers that are not often found in New Zealand. And the care they put in meals and very good customer service is very appreciated. Gochisosamadeshita.

Authentic Japanese food with reasonable prices and great dinner sets which offer little bits of different things. The fish is fresh as can be, the tuna tataki is mouth watering and so delicate. The fresh salmon spring rolls are so delicious and light. I recommend the kyoya delight, you get a bit of everything for a great price and will leave you feeling satisfied!! The staff are super friendly and I have to rate it as one if the best Japanese restaurants in Auckland, with decent prices for good quality Japanese food!
