Black Bear Diner - Aurora

On Friday 12/8 evening, I ordered a Denver Omelet without Ham for delivery (Order #23124420190699520). I've ordered this menu item plenty of times from Black Bear Diner. When it was received, it was the wrong omelet. It had bacon and sausage. Normally, I would just take what I got, but given that I don't eat meat, I couldn't eat it. So I called the diner and the lady on the phone said there was nothing they can do about it, that I'd have to bring the omelet in to get a replacement or refund. I told her, but I got it delivered, I shouldn't have to drive there for their mistake. She claims that I ordered it via a third party and they couldn't refund. I said I ordered directly from their website. Again, she said there is nothing she can do. I asked for a manager, and she said he was busy. At this point, I'm a little flabbergasted... I've been stuck at home with the flu and really shouldn't be driving. Then she just hung up on me.This used to be my go-to brunch place and would always be the first place I recommend. But not any more. Such a shame that is how you treat a customer, especially a repeat customer.

I was here on 11/29/2023 for a birthday dinner celebration for my sister. Our server was Mykhael and she was awesome server. She was very attentive and polite. What ever we needed she was willing to do! She always had a smile and I couldn’t say enough great things about her! If you should ever go to this diner on 14100 East Iliff Avenue, Aurora CO you should ask for her as a server!

Ok as far as the food goes. They give you a ton of food for very cheap so I knew going there quality of the food wasn’t going to be gourmet. But it was certainly passable and worth my money. The atmosphere is unique and I can tell their work culture is excellent having worked in food myself for two years. Service was impeccable with my waitress (Katie) checking in often with a smile every time and a manager (Carey) checked in once too. I felt valued as a customer due to their service.

I took my coworker to lunch there because we wanted something new. Let me tell you the food was really good. I had their breakfast potatoes and they were one of the best I've had. The service was outstanding. As soon as we sat down our waitress Denise came right to us to get our drink order. She was super helpful when my coworker had questions about some of the items on the menu. Denise made sure we had everything we needed during our meal. You can tell that she love what she does just from the great treatment we received.

Calling Black Bear a diner is doing it an injustice. It is more of a casual dining restaurant. The servings are good sized to large. The service is always excellent and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed and quiet. The parking is great. I had the Tuna Chef Salad and it was a very enjoyable dinner with unexpected chef salad ingredients. They always serve the salad dressing on the side, you don 't have to ask.
