I got seats at Peruvian Supper Club to celebrate a friend's birthday, but I screwed up and told everyone the wrong time. Chef Julio very generously let us come late and experience our four-course Peruvian meal. All of the dishes were fantastic, unique, and we loved hearing his explanations of all the dishes and ingredients.
Delicious dinner! Chef came out and introduced each course, explained how and why each specialty Peruvian ingredient was used — even pointing out regions in Peru on his very handy forearm Peru tattoo! Everything was fantastic, well seasoned, tasty and unique.
My husband and I got the Shambar and the Ceviche Classico (with soft shelled crab) and we are so excited to go back! The food is really fresh and authentic.
I would say this place is very overestimated and the chefs think too strong of themselves. I would like to tell them that I made the cursor that was four courts and one dessert and lasted four hours to complete. food 1) causa de corazon that was really quite good, the Aji-Limo was a good contrast to lighten up the dish from the bark and kartoffels. the bark had a nice chewing gum to contrast the kartoffels. I'd order it again. 2) cebiche I must admit, this was not a bad dish for a ceviche, it had a fresh taste and the fish was not cooked over. I must admit, although for only 5 courses I think this is not worth the price and is too easy from a court. if they are a big edible, they will also be extremely disappointed. 3) cau cau that is probably the worst dish they served, everything was overdue and the otopus was so chewing that I would have given it to my dog as chewing toy. everything else was so muddy from the mushles to the gnocchi. I think it's an insult to call it gnocchi, it's closer to kartoffels smashed. 4) tamale I found the one thing that is dry than the sawara dessert and surprise it comes with a side of aji limo. They could not even taste the meat because there was so little and the masa had no taste. I would say frozen fools would be less dry. 5) albaricocada that is literally a funnel cake and state fairs make better. not only is it a simple dessert, they crossed the cake to the point that they could use it for crumbs. service 1) not only eating bad, the service was a bigger sweat. they miscounted the number of people and kept among the serve all so that the dishes are slower coming on the tip already an hour per court. 2) the sanitation is disgusting. they will use spoons and pliers after use again to try a plate. they say that they dive it into sanitary solution, vs wash it, but when considering the glass the sanitary solution was so low that they hardly have covered the spoon. 3) during the service, instead of preparing, they concentrated on how easy it is to do meals three times per night. please get their menu until par before they even do a tasting. 4) I hate to harass them, but as for waiters and waiters they literally use their daughters and daughters friends to serve men. they charge a luxury price they need to get luxury waiters and waiters. I will not eat any of this chef ever taste. Given his attitude, his work ethics and the kind of service he thinks that the price justifies that I disgust that he can call himself a chef.
