Chuy's - Austin

Quintessential Tex Mex, which definitely brings you back to early 80s High School Post Football game Vibes. Chuy's is usually one of the first places we met when we come to Austin, and why not? Great margaritas and burritos, especially for a decent chain. It's about as comforting as it gets and it's certainly somewhere the whole family can enjoy to get the old school, unintentional Austin Vibes.

As a Austin-Halte. Even good for a weekend heavy lunch budget spot. I have the veggie enchiladas with the Boom Boom sauce. It is a medium spicy but good! The portions are much for how much it costs. You also have other veggie options. This also comes with chips and diving for free.

We stopped here because our daughter recommended it. The salsa with the chips was pale and sharp, very good. My husband and I share the Chuychanga, it was very good! I chose a green chili sauce. The bartender recommended the Luke Chili sauce and it was excellent! My husband had the sharp cheese sauce and that was also very good.

You need to order a margarita to accompany your meal. The service is excellent, always young and friendly people willing to make you a good time with good food. The Fajitas are the best!!

We have always gone to Chuys dressed as Elvis and Priscilla on Elvis ' Birthday. Chuys restaurants have shrines to Elvis and decorations of Elvis everywhere. This year the waiter said we usually give free food to those dressed up. He came back and said sorry, our manager said we are not celebrating Elvis ' Birthday this year. Nice. We hadn 't asked for anything and were embarrassed by those sitting around us that heard this exchange.
