This was a great recommendation from an employee at the museum and we were so glad we took his advice. It is a family friendly restaurant and we had no complaints.
I had the CJ Plate (one brisket taco, one cheese enchilada, queso, rice, and beans. It was delicious and the margaritas are great. I ordered the homemade bread pudding to go and it’s the best bread pudding I’ve ever had. On top of all the good food, the staff were really friendly and attentive.
We chose El Mercado for our son 's wedding rehearsal dinner. What a great choice, especially in the time of covid! The restaurant was immaculate, the food was truly some of the Best Authentic Mexican food I 've eaten in Austin. Cory, our server was the reason we had such a good time. Great service, great food, and atmosphere combine to makes a memorable evening! And...the price was just right. Thanks for helping make this 'special life event ' a happy 'new ' family beginning! Good health, and blessings for a prosperous New Year.
Wonderful food, staff, and atmosphere. Good lunch specials too!
We had a good lunch here with a nice waiter who was friendly and curious about us coming all the way from Sweden. It was a kind of slow day so not many other customers and we got our food quickly. The waiter was nice enough to let us try a fried pepper since we said we liked spicy food.
