The best thing about Austin is the abundance of food trucks; they mostly the audience with fantastic food sans the decoration that is usually connected to a seat restaurant. The prices are mostly relatively cheap and the amount is abundant. Madras Dhaba delivers all these aspects. Madras Dhaba, located on 6. Street, takes a place among many other food trucks in a rectangular parking structure ash area. The menu is in front and middle and it is quietly interesting. For beginners it has Indian Tacos that I appreciate is very popular here. Unfortunately, we did not try them (I think that was a great miss from my side), but we chose the proven, chicken 65 and wiper tikka masala together with paratha and garlic naan. We have the food to go even though they have tables there to enjoy the food. The Paratha was a joy and the crowd was plentiful. The pane tikka masala was on the sweeter side, which was a bummer. Everything started hot and fresh and we enjoyed the food. They do the food delivery through all regular delivery services that is a plus for everyone who wants to enjoy food on their own comfort. Madras Dhaba is an Indian food truck with a variety of options to choose from. It has both vegetarian and meat options along with the usual drinks and deserts you would find in a typical Indian establishment. Turning around this place is the availability of Indian style Tacos that is popular among people. This place is worth a try if you are in the area.
Not so great for the hype. Veg biryani was terrible. Panner Tikka Masala was okay.
Best Indian food in Austin. Anyone who gives a star rating has no clue. Owner is super beautiful, food is perfect every time. Price is fair and value is there? The food is filled to the top of the tub, a large part of rice. Unlike all other so-called Indian restaurants in the city that charge $18 for a dish half full and a spoon of rice. Don't call these places. Make yourself a favor and go here instead of you won?t be disappointed. Owner is actually from India, so the food is actually authentic. Do appreciate that in Austin with so many places try to reach the flavors, this place does so easy.
I'm not one to leave negative reviews but this was a rather underwhelming experience unfortunately $15 for a lamb curry and all i received was a container with the curry soup which contained maybe 4, 5 small chunks of lamb (3 oz at most, nothing to satiate) and a box full of rice. Left hungry still. Too expensive for the small amount of protein I received.
