After dining here for eleven years, I’ve come to the realization that while the service is good, it’s not exceptional. We’ve had a few mishaps, like our table being given away by the hostess when we attempted to order drinks from the bar (a misunderstanding on our part), and there have been instances where our food arrives before our drinks. The food itself is solid; their hamburgers and steaks are excellent. However, whenever I try something different, I often find myself disappointed. I’ve encountered dishes that are either overcooked (think duck), bland (like your first pot roast when you forget to add salt and herbs), or overly rich and sweet (like the rabbit dish). I just haven’t been able to find that perfect balance in the last few years. Despite this, I plan to keep coming back, although I can’t help but wonder why. Perhaps I should just stick to cocktails and charcuterie, which usually doesn’t let me down.

After just one bite, I was brought to tears; the food was cooked and seasoned flawlessly. The drinks were fantastic, and I can't wait to return to try the milkshakes!

For our main courses, we ordered duck confit and beef tenderloin, along with a crème brûlée for dessert. Everything was exceptional. I also appreciated that the entrées were generous enough to be satisfying on their own, which is a welcome change in a time when "small plates" are so common in upscale dining. Visiting on a Tuesday was a great choice because the restaurant was not too crowded. I could imagine it could get a bit loud and packed on weekends, as the tables are quite close together. If you have the chance to visit during the week, I highly recommend this place—the food is truly unforgettable!

Excellent drinks! I had the fig manhattan and my husband had the golden fairy absinthe drink. The bartender who served us was awesome. He knew every drink on that menu and told us his favorites. For dinner we had the special, Beef tenderloin with mashed potatoes and green beans. The food was excellent! Beautiful restaurant. The owner seated us and made his rounds to make sure we were enjoying our experience. Must try when you come to Austin.
