Polvo's Downtown Central - Austin

The bartender was skilled and the food and drink menu was affordable and extensive. However, our experience was soured when the waiter accidentally spilled sauce on me and did not even apologize, simply saying "Oops" and walking away. Overall, I do not recommend this restaurant.

I rarely write negative reviews, but this was hands down the worst dining experience I've ever had. My party of 5 was seated outside, far away and it took 30 minutes for someone to bring us chips with no salsa. We had to wait another 15 minutes before our server came. No one informed us about the salsa bar, and we almost left to go somewhere else because we were unsure if we would even get our food. When our food finally arrived, after another 30-40 minute wait, it was at best warm and some dishes were even cold. I had to search for our server to get silverware after receiving our subpar food. My black enchiladas came with cheese, despite my allergy to it. When I asked for it to be remade without cheese, the server tried to prove that there was no cheese by opening the enchiladas with a fork, clearly showing that there was. Additionally, we were charged $4 extra for salsa, which was not even good. Despite not finding this charge on the menu, the server insisted it was there. One member of our party ordered an alcoholic drink for $16, which had no alcohol in it, and another never received their soda but was still charged for it. Overall, this was an awful experience and none of us will ever return to this restaurant. I strongly advise against dining here; there are much better options in Austin that deserve your business. The loud music also made it difficult to have a conversation.

The food was average and a bit bland. My wife and I ordered fajitas for two, which ended up being a lot of food for us. However, we felt that the prices were too high for the quality of the food. The service was good, even though the restaurant was not very crowded. Our main complaint was the additional costs - $4 for the salsa bar and $1 for extra tortillas. We were disappointed to find out about these charges after receiving our bill. The salsa bar was a bit of a letdown as we expected salsa to come with our chips. As for the tortillas, we were only given 4 for a fajita plate for two people with no option to request more without being charged extra. Overall, the food was average, and the extra costs left a sour taste in our mouths.

Delicious food and margaritas. they must have been far among the employees when we went there on a Sunday because they have brought out the wrong food and then also accused us of it, then 30 minutes to find someone to take it off from our back?

Food was awesome. Swevice was pretty slow considering there were only 6 tables while we were there and I saw more than 2 employees
