Blue Moon Over Avila - Avila Beach

BMOA is our family’s favorite restaurant at Avila Beach. We go here for special occasions and have many fond memories. We love sitting outside and always enjoy the great view and ambience. The food and service are typically wonderful, too. However, this visit the service from the hostess/food server was awful. (Our waitress was wonderful! We are assuming the hostess is new to the job or poorly trained. She had a challenging time finding our reservation; brought us to our table with the wrong menus (and ; wrong number of set-ups; and took a bit of time to bring the right ones. She brought our shared Caesar salad with no tongs and took a bit of time to bring them. She just seemed overall confused. Additionally, my husband’s birthday was never acknowledged even though I included this note on our reservation. I hope this feedback helps BMOA. This particular hostess needs support to achieve your typical standard.

We had a lovely Mother's Day brunch and sat in the back room. Everything was wonderful. Emma, our server, was attentive and super sweet. The food was great. We're looking forward to coming back.

Every time we stay in Avila we have to visit Blue Moon Over Avila. We always have a glass of sparkling or champagne, a shrimp cocktail entree or dessert to get our stay off to an incredible beginning. Sitting on the patio (weather permitting) can't be surpassed; the view, the food drink the way all the everyday baggage just falls away is incredible!

Just such a great meal for a girls night out. Awesome wine pours and attentive staff. Thank you for another memorable meal! Cheers!

4 out of 8 Ordered the scallops shrimp rice special. Scallops were cold and raw inside but didn’t want to make a fuss, we all were sick the next morning. Should have made a fuss. Beautiful table, great service. 3rd time eating dinner there and food is subpar. But will we return for the ambience… probably:
