The food was excellent, and the service was both excellent and charming. It was a delight to escape the crowds in the city center and enjoy a truly gourmet meal. We can't recommend it highly enough. This was the best meal we had in Charlevoix.
Charming restaurant, beautifully decorated, with a cook that supplies and cooks with local ingredients. Everything was delicious bread, all 3 courses and dessert.
Located just minutes from downtown, this restaurant overlooks the beautiful St. Lawrence River. The food was fantastic and accompanied by wine recommendations from the chef, who took the time to discuss the menu and our impressions with us personally (in English, as our French is not the best). We started our meal with a delicious, crusty baguette with butter. My wife and son enjoyed a smoked salmon appetizer, while I opted for perfectly cooked spring rolls. The next course was a delightful hot vichysoisse with pepper and tomato soup. For the main course, we savored a succulent pork dish with potato gratin. The meal ended perfectly with a light pastry and a strong cup of coffee. This was by far the best meal we had during our trip to Quebec, and the best meal my wife and I have had in years. Do not miss this gem if you find yourself in Baie-St-Paul!
Very rarely you come across a restaurant where not only the food is exceptional, but the service is personal, the wine list is simple and yet excellent, and the cook is in front of the house. Welcome to La Bouche Des Gouts. Chef Regis is a personable,...funny and engages with a passion for what he does and the customers he serves. Without a doubt, this is one of the most memorable, except on earth, absolutely pleasant and most delicious meals my wife and I have eaten in all our extensive trips. If you are near Baie Saint Paul, do yourself a favor and make the effort to take the 5 minute drive outside the capital center to experience this charming restaurant.
The chef is terrific...introduces the menu personally...the food is fantastic...interesting, locally sourced, creative and delicious. I'd highly recommend the very short drive out of town and up the hill to enjoy a meal here.
