Have been here several time over many years, I have found the last few times it wasn't as good as it use to be, this time will most likely be my last time as I found the food tasteless and really not nice, the chicken and corn soup was so watered down I really couldn't taste the corn or any chicken at all it was horrible, the honey chicken was pale and not all chicken had the sweetener on it ( you could tell it wasn't honey) I use to love there plum beef and just like the chicken it was pail and had very little sauce on it, the beef in black bean was the only thing I really enjoyed as any of there battered dishes including the banana fritters had a bicarbonate soda taste and all pail and tasteless, also not much of a variety of food for all you can eat, the staff are very friendly and clean the tables fast, this last time would of been the worst meal I have ever eaten there
They definitely have the worst steamed dim sims in Australia - a hard, tasteless gelatinous mass, cold in the middle. Very average stir-fry beef with lots of broccoli and onion, not much else. The service was perfunctory and consisted mostly of plonking dishes down then popping back minutes later to interrupt our conversation by asking "All OK here then?!". When we asked for chopsticks they were amazed and you would think it was the first time they had ever had such a request. The prices are astoundingly high for what they offer - basically all dishes are between $24 - $28 dollars, which for a chinese restaurant in a country town is about 50% too high. The most basic meal here with a drink will cost you $60-$70 per couple and it will not be worth it.Strangely, their wine is much more reasonably priced than their food. You are probably best off ordering some prawn chips, drinking 2 bottles of Wolf Blass Yellow Label at $28 each, then going for a kebab or pizza.
I really enjoyed the take away meal we ordered from the Lake of China... really delicious curry prawns, great fried rice and good service. I'll definitely go back here again.
All vegetables From the Freezer, the Chinese Beef rather Like Schnitzel with sweet Sour tomato Sauce. Do yourself a favor and Go somewhere else
