We tried the Dutch Oven for our lunch at the Feast On East food and wine festival at Metung over the Queens Birthday Long weekend. I had the pulled lamb burger and my husband had the pulled pork so we were able to try both options. They were both so delicious, they had heaps of melt in your mouth meat and the food was well presented. We did the rounds of the festival but ended up coming back to the Dutch Oven to try their ribs and jalapeño poppers. They were also both awesome, and we went back several times over the afternoon for more as they were such a tasty cheap option for a snack. Prices were really reasonable. It was a great atmosphere around their food tent and you could see that the guys and their partners were having a great time cooking and interacting with customers. I also liked that they had partnered with a local food outlet for their produce and were doing a deal with a local brewery as well. I had a brief discussion with 'Az' about the possibility of using the Dutch Oven to cater for my hubby's birthday later in the year. He was really receptive and quickly went over a few options that they could do for private catering which all sounded great. I plan to follow up with them about that this week. Thanks for the fantastic and unique culinary experience guys! We were really impressed and you were definitely a cut above the rest for food options at the festival this year. Well done!
Stopped in at Feast on the East in Metung. These guys were onsite. Super friendly bunch of lads. Smoked meat to die for. The Jalepeno Poppers were delicious. Have to try one, or 5. That's good !
I've travelled the world and eaten some great food but this stuff, from a simple setup....The poppers were stuffed with cheese, wrapped in bacon and were amazingly delicious! I brought 1 to try then went back for another 3. My wife had a burger and didn’t want to give me a bite, when I did get a bite it was full of moist meat, crunchy coleslaw and a homemade bbq sauce that was perfect. I went back and got a lamb burger that was a new item, it was their 2nd opening and they already have new stuff! All in all, the service was great. The stall they had set up had instruments, was warm from the fire and felt very homely. Looking forward to seeing their new menu! I think I might move to East Gippsland just to watch these two fellas grow! Cheers!
Great lunch stop for all the familyMy daughter was worried her vegetarian wishes wouldn't be fulfilled, but she was rapt with her spinach and fill pie.
