Cullen's At The Cottage - Ballinrobe

Fabulous food. The chef is very good, as are all the staff

Cullen's is a charming cottage at Ashford Castle. While here we visited it twice. Once for a group event with apps and drink. The Cottage had been emptied for the event to accommodate everyone. The apps were plentiful and all delicious. Staff was were great. On our second visit it was for dinner. Again the service was very good and the food was delicious. If staying at the castle this is a fine place for a relaxed and informal meal

Very friendly welcome to this lovely restaurant. Gorgeous food. We enjoyed the courgette and cheese starter and a beef spring roll starter. Main course we both had the delicious seafood tagliatelle. No room for dessert but we were given complimentary truffles.

Nice atmosphere, looks like a thatched cottage. Okay octopus and crab starter, muted flavors. Decent seafood tagliatelle, mostly mussels. Very good piri piri chicken. Friendly and fast service.

While staying at the Lodge at Ashford Castle decided to dine at Cullen's. Arrived around 7pm without a reservation and Host seated us as there were empty tables open for two. Never saw the Host or Management after that. Service was spotty once our food order was placed. Server delivered our meal had to track folks down to get additional drink or other needs. No one came by to ask if our meal was in order. Even had to stop another waiter to get the final check. Overall, good pricey seafood combined with terrible customer service!
