Great place with wonderful view. The food is the typical authentic basque food and the service is great, smiling and effective. It worth it to take the ride for a lunch or better to stay overnight
We arrived without a reservation and they were fully booked inside. They offered us outside with some hesitation as it was still cool of an evening. We grabbed it as we love to eat outside, it was still light and as nobody else had arrived...we got to have a lovely meal with a fantastic view without any smokers around us. They made sure they looked after us and never forgot we were outside at the top of the driveway as the restaurant filled up with booked patrons. Lovely soup, trout (locally farmed) was superb. Served simply so that the fish was allowed to shine. Think we had a nice dessert too. We got going just as darkness hit and before we got too cold. While everyone heading inside thought we were mad we were over the moon and were thrilled they made such a gracious effort to accommodate us. This was my favourite restaurant in the area. It is relaxed and not trying to be super fine dining. We thought quality was very good and pricing was good. We stayed at a B&B (Idiartekoborda) about 15min drive away that recommended this along with one or two others when we first arrived. They were correct!
The food is home cooked and local. The menu is small but variated. We has the soup of the day, whic was very tastefull. Local people come here in the weekends, which make it real authentic . I really nice place.
Lovely waitress. Food was yummy. A bottle of Tinto vino was included for the €11 each we paid. Great value.
