We were actually gunning for the Burger King: anything to take the load off our feet and food in our bellies. We came upon this place and walked straight in,...pleased at being saved from fast food or overpriced tourist fare. The food was awesome, the service was great, the portions were decent, the pricing was just right. We enjoyed the food so much that we returned to the restaurant on our last night in Barcelona. Well done, Mussol!
From the outside Mossul looks great, greeter was polite and helpful. Went in to celebrate a birthday with fiance. Ordered food and that's where it went downhill. Fries arrived soaked in grease, meat escalopes were waver thin and massively overcooked (cardboard anyone I mentioned it...to the waitress who then proceeded to avoid us till we left where we recieved a polite, sorry'. The venue had great potential, was nicely laid out but tonight wad the chefs night off and the cleaners must of been running the kitchen. Sadly let down. Shame I have to award even one star.
Not a lot is open in the area on a Sunday. It was fine food but nothing amazing. The mized veggies were good.
I went to Barcelona for the weekend and I really enjoyed the lunch I had at Mossul: tasty, particular and affordable. We had a typical catalan entrant and then grilled meat as main course: absolutely great. On top of it, we had red sangria which...was terrific. The atmosphere is very nice and it's perfect for a good lunch without efforts.
There are several Mossuls in Barcelona, there is even one at the airport, but don't let that dissuade you. I always enjoy these restaurants, the menu consists mainly of grilled vegetables and meats from the Catalan region, the food is healthy and changes with the...season, the service adequate to good, and the prices are very reasonable.
