Nous avons passé un super moment. Nous avons pris le menu à 29€ avec entrée plat fromage et dessert. Très bon rapport qualité prix. Mal nous en a pris...La qualité est très moyenne, pas vraiment locale, un peu gras, du copieux mais sans la qualité (pâtes aux queues de langoustines plus petites que des demis petits pois)Tarte au citron très surprenante, je n'ai pas senti le gout du citron, j'ai peut etre eu une tarte au pommes que sais-je ça ne ressemblait pas à grand chose ( la quantité non plus) et ça baignait dans un sirop sucré..Par contre les coupes de glace sont très belles et très bonnes. enfin vu le prix j'ai été vraiment choquée de laisser 80€ pour un déjeuner somme toute décevant (deux apéros, une entrée, deux plats, deux desserts, ni vin, ni café, ni eau en bouteille)à mon avis on peut trouver mieux facilement.moyenne d'age des clients : 80 ans

We have a few favorite places in Barcelonette, L 'Abri for the pizzas and l 'Adelita for Mexican food, but we had never tried Le Gaudissart. The dish of the day was a Couscous, and it was freshly cooked and in good quantity. The ' 'Hamburger d 'ici ' ' (local hamburger) was greatly appreciated as well. For the dessert, ' 'L ' Île flottante ' ' was light and tasty, strongly recommended, and the "Café Gourmand ' ' was all fine. We will come back. The current average score of 3,5 is unfair based on my experience today (lunch on a Sunday) and what I heard from the other clients.

This time however the meal was poor, small and it seemed not being local/french,I was treated as a 2nd class diner. Being a cyclist I was hoping for a good hearty meal. The amount of pasta was pitiful with hardly any (worryingly undercooked) tastless bolognese also. Was more annoyed as well when a frenchman- solo diner like myself, had the same meal but had far more on his plate than me.

It wasn 't what we were looking for at the time (we just wanted a very quick snack before rushing back to a warm and welcoming motorhome on the nearby campsite . However, the next day was sunny and warm and we noticed that Le Gaudissart was already busy with the coffee and drinks trade, so we joined them and were seated just outside the interior restaurant; there 's a large exterior seating area with good shading provided. We immediately felt at home and decided to stay on for lunch after enjoying half an hour with our aperitifs. Super plat du jour and quick service. As soon as we finished, we booked a table for lunch the following day, Sunday. On arrival in an already very crowded restaurant, we were immediately recognised and greeted, had a great lunch and complimentary digestif. Top class place and I am very surprised to see a recent reviewer saying that he felt poorly treated 'as a foreigner '. Maybe the fact that we try (a little poorly but very hard! to speak in French wins us Brownie points and extra special service. I don 't know, but I cannot think of a single thing to criticise here. Once again we chose one of the plats du jour and couldn 't fault any of the food. Above all, the enormous energy of all the staff, rushing at all times to deal with a very busy service, under the clearly very experienced eyes of Monsieur and Madame les Patrons.
