Mushroom and Swiss are good, but not terrestrial. The steak sandwich was pretty good; not overcooked. Fries were always perfectly crispy, no salt added that is beautiful so that you salt to your taste. I tried a fireplace cake and it wasn't my thing. Only a huge cream-filled cinnamon sugar biscuits. The menu mentioned other flavors that sound better, but when I was there, it was basically exactly what they had in a chilled case. I once tried a chicken tenderer and they were terrible, basically what you find in the frozen food aisle in every grocery store. Maybe they're better now, but I'm staying with one of the burgers. The atmosphere is a bit goofy, cartoons of celebrities are everywhere. Service is always pretty good. The dining room is separated from the adjacent gas station by a metal door, so when the gas station is busy it becomes loud. This is a fixed 3.5 star place, rounded as it is a place I would recommend.
Don't order the hashbrowns. They are always old, dry and tasteless. A bite and I'm done twice. And I'm not super picky. Yummy pancakes. Patty melt over boiled and dry. Really good cookies and Gravy. Fried mushrooms very good.
I was comprehensible about this place because it is attached to a convenience store in a gas station. But I trusted the reviews and got a chance. I was not disappointed, the menu was varied, the service was great and grilled spicy chicken sandwich was great. Bonus can give you breakfast pages with your sandwich so I got hash browns that were also excellent. This place is not raised imagination food, but that is not as it is. Big little diner with good food.
Stopped in to give them another chance since the first couple times we visited we weren?t impressed.. should?ve stuck with my gut. Dirty tables, slow service due to short staffing, and my favorite part.. canned (fake) eggs. Not much has changed from when they opened.. I rarely snub my nose to food, but neither me or my daughter ate much that morning. Th e bacon was good though! Burgers might be worth it. The decor is cute and it?s a local business.
This place is a gem in your area! Yeah yeah it's a gas station dinner. But, and I Say a Big BUT. One of the best dinners in the st.louis region. It is family owned. She get her bread from the best place, her poultry from only the best place. And most of all her desserts are made to top you off. The wings have a homemade sauce that will one day win a competition. Again I drove 40 minutes for this place, and would always be happy to go any time. Thank you Tiffany for giving us this place south of Arnold. Yeah go past Arnold for this!
