We rented the whole property for the weekend at a very reasonable price: we had family sleeping in lodging available and friends camping in the small but charming campground. We had the rehearsal dinner up near the lodge, the ceremony outside under the shade of apple trees with mountain views in the background, cocktail hour in the gardens around the barn, dinner and dancing in the celebration barn, and ended everything with a big bonfire. It's a venue that might not be for everyone, but it was everything we wanted and more. If you want a big, clean, cookie cutter wedding with everything already planned for you, this might not be the venue for you. Millstone Hill has a homemade and hardworking vibe to it. You’ll have to hire all of the vendors yourself, but this means that you have the flexibility to plan a unique wedding.Frankie and Pierre were consistently helpful, communicative, and flexible during the whole process. It’s clear that they take great pride in taking care of and sharing their childhood home.
Interesting and scenic location. Super relaxed lodging and owners are the nicest people. I love the continental breakfast with fresh fruit and arguably the worlds best homemade muffins. Yum! I make it a point to stay here when traveling in the area, and a good central hub for Vermont visitors.
Came highly recommended and lived up to reputation in every way. Great view, warm hospitality, cozy room with good linens, excellent and amply breakfast. A beautifully reconstructed barn with hand-finished beams. And just out the door: miles of beautiful hiking/biking trails that lead among old quarries and grout piles, huge hills of unused granite slabs. We will come back!
Dead flies, smelly musty bedding, we were told to be quiet at 430pm due to another room sleeping, no privacy, no TV, games or any entertainment, we were not welcomed warmly, shown around or explained anything. This is only good if you're renting the entire lodge or are only coming to sleep, read, write, don't mind having no TV sharing bathrooms with strangers.
The place is dirty. We didn't stay. Ya you are right about TY. She didn't stay bc it's creepy gross. No Pierre no one wants to sleep in your room in your bed. We drove 3 hours home in the driving rain. And miss a fay and a half of vacation bc every place else was full. Just clean the place. Remove dirty carpets. Replace fiels stone that is missing on stairs.. clean in front of barn. Rusty junk. It's like ma and pa kettle there. It's not antiques charming is old and creepy!
